Incoterms 2010 – A Quick reference chart

The last rules, Incoterms 2010, were published on January 1, 2011. Our quick reference guide makes it easier for our readers to remember the characteristics of each incoterm.

The Incoterms rules or International Commercial terms are a series of pre-defined three lettered commercial terms published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) commonly used in international trade transactions.

The Incoterms 2010 are organized into two categories:

Incoterms for any Mode or Modes of Transport:

  • EXW – Ex Works
  • FCA – Free Carrier
  • CPT – Carriage Paid To
  • CIP – Carriage and Insurance Paid
  • DAT – Delivered At Terminal (new)
  • DAP – Delivered At Place (new)
  • DDP – Delivered Duty Paid

Incoterms for Sea and Inland Waterway Transport Only:

  • FAS – Free Alongside Ship
  • FOB – Free On Board
  • CFR – Cost and Freight
  • CIF – Cost, Insurance and Freight
